Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and the site that referred you. This is gathered through cookies and similar tools described in Section 8.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money.

3. Text messages (SMS)

4. Emails

We send emails about bookings and, if you have agreed, newsletters and promotions. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any message. We will still send emails needed to manage your lessons or account.

5. How we share information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers who help us run the studio, such as our scheduling and customer communication platform, website host, email and text messaging providers, and payment processors. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Charter school or education programs, when a family pays for lessons using approved program funds and asks us to provide attendance, invoicing, or progress information to that program.
  • Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Voice Academy, our students, or others.
  • Business transfers, if Voice Academy is sold or merged, in which case information would be transferred subject to this policy.

6. Children's privacy

Many of our students are children. Our website is intended for parents, guardians, and adult students, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. Information about a child student is provided to us by a parent or guardian, who may review, update, or ask us to delete it at any time by contacting us.

If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us without a parent's consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Photos, video, and recordings

We sometimes capture photos and video at lessons, recitals, classes, and events, and we produce audio and video in our recording studio. We will ask for permission, from a parent or guardian in the case of a minor, before posting identifiable images or recordings of students on our website, YouTube channel, or social media. You may withdraw that permission at any time, and we will remove the content from accounts we control.

Recordings made during a paid recording session belong to the client as agreed at the time of booking.

8. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and understand which ads or pages bring visitors to us. We may use analytics and advertising tools from providers such as Google and Meta, which may collect information about your visit.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly without them. You can also learn about opting out of interest-based ads at optout.aboutads.info.

Do Not Track: Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for these signals, our site does not currently respond to them.

9. Data retention and security

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, keep business and tax records, and resolve disputes, and then delete or de-identify it.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your choices and rights

You may contact us at any time to:

  • Ask what personal information we have about you or your child.
  • Correct or update your information.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Opt out of marketing emails or text messages.

California residents may have additional rights under California law, including the right to request certain information about how we share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

11. Third-party links

Our website links to other sites and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be posted on our website.
